Sun Directed is Green Building Solutions, LLC. Founded in 2008 by Heather Shadow and Michael Shadow — still local, still hands-on.
Our mission
Our mission is to reduce your electric bill. We focus on the three things that have the most impact on your electric bill. Reducing your heating and cooling expenses with super high efficiency heat pumps, heat pump hot water systems, and producing power from the sun with solar panels.
Oh yea and we install energy storage systems so you can keep things going when there is a power outage or you want to fulfill your off grid dreams.

2008
Green Building Solutions, LLC
Heather Shadow and Michael Shadow launched the company with geothermal, energy audits, and weatherization, building on Michael’s earlier geothermal and IT work, including at Penn State’s College of Education. Heather is co-founder; the PA Solar Center lists her as an installer contact.
2009
Solar training & first PV
Michael trained with Solar Energy International, earned NABCEP Entry Level, designed PV for his own home as the PA Sunshine Grant opened, and began customer installs. He later sat for the NABCEP Solar PV Installer exam and became one of a small number of NABCEP-certified installers in Pennsylvania.
2010
Sun Directed
Solar work became the company’s focus. The business rebranded as Sun Directed in January 2010.

Still Centre County
Homes, businesses, and farms across central Pennsylvania trust a family company for solar, storage, heat pumps, EV charging, and related electrical work — including whole-home projects planned as one coordinated build.
