Denise & Terry’s litle slice of heaven.

An off grid homesteading story

Denise called us for a battery replacement for their off grid homestead in the middle of the mountains northeast of Snowshoe.

Their existing solar batteries were no longer holding a charge and had expanded and some were leaking.  They wanted to replace them with lithium batteries.  After examining their system it was determined that lithium batteries would not be a good option for them because they winterize their home in the winter and the tempatures could drop below the range for the lithium batteries, and because the voltages are slightly different between traditional off grid batteries and the new lithium ones. Their existing equipment could not be reprogrammed to work with the batteries without an expensive upgrade of most of their equipment.

We replaced their old flooded lead acid batteries with maintenance free nano carbon batteries.  While there we learned more about their story and got to see their amazing homestead, their “Little Slice of Heaven”.
